This blend retains the same USA Connecticut Broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan Maduro and Pennsylvania Broadleaf Maduro fillers as the original, but swaps the wrapper for a silky Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade leaf. The name carries special meaning: the “S” stands for the shade-grown wrapper, “84” marks the year Metallica released their Ride the Lightning album, and “Shade to Black” nods to Fade to Black, one of the album’s iconic tracks.
